For many it can be problematic, embarrassing and expensive, but with the right products, you can learn to love your sensitive skin.
Signs of sensitive skin include tightness, uneven texture, flakiness, dehydration, reactions to the weather, blemishes and so many other irritations.
At Pure-Beauty we offer a range of products that keep issues to a minimum and offer sensitive skin the TLC it craves.
We love the Dermalogica Super Sensitive Shield SPF30 and it’s really popular with our customers too. This
chemical-free, broad spectrum sunscreen helps not only protect the skin but also reinforces the complex barrier lipids that can be an issue for sensitised skin. An exclusive UltraCalming™ Complex helps reduce inflammation, redness and irritation and a phytochemical blend soothes and strengthens connective tissues. Pat evenly and liberally onto your face, preferably 30 minutes prior to sun exposure, or mix with your Dermalogica moisturiser then apply.
If you skin is dry or sensitive, or both, Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash is ideal for you. Extracts of Thyme, German Chamomile and Lady’s Mantle, all well known for their natural anti-bacterial properties, calm and sooth as you cleanse. The rich foam gently conditions and moisturises without stripping away oils and maintains the natural acid balance of the skin.
If you really want to get to grip with a tricky complexion, we suggest going for the Elemis BIOTEC Skin Energising Day Cream Sensitive. Scientifically proven to help increase cell energy, this cream contains zinc and copper which work together to help activate the skin’s own power of bio-electricity and encourage improved cell energy. Wow! Barley Seed Extract and Cupuacubutter calm irritation and redness and the skin is left looking smooth, youthful and moisturised for up to 12 hours.
If you have sensitive skin, some foundations can make matters worse, but using Dermalogica’s Ultra Sensitive Tint with added SPF30 could just save the day. This broad spectrum sunscreen is tinted with earth minerals so not only does it protect your skin against UV damage, it also offers subtle coverage. Packed with health loving antioxidants in the form of Grape Seed and Green Tea extracts as well as Mint and Coneflower, the skin is calmed and soothed and blushes are spared.
If you want to restore stressed and dehydrated skin, we suggest trying the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque. While it can be used on all skin types, the blend of calming botanical extracts of Bitter Orange, Hops, Cucumber and Arnica mean skin is soothed and Vitamins A, C and E help repair damage and ease lines. Use on the face and throat once or twice a week and allow the masque to absorb into your skin for ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing with warm water and then apply your moisturiser.
If you do have sensitive skin, you might be interested in using the Elemis Luxury Cleansing Cloth Duo. These luxury cleansing cloths are lightweight and soft on the skin, making them a soothing alternative to polishing cloths. They maintain heat when run under water so you can naturally deep cleanse each time you use them and when you wash them in the machine, they come out as good as new.
If you are generally feeling tired and sensitive, the Elemis De-Stress Massage Oil not only melts tension but also eases stressed skin. Rosewood, Melissa, Marjoram, Geranium, Rosemary, Lavender and Chamomile oils have been blended together and work wonders on those stubborn areas that need a little extra love.
